The Journey

Maria is originally from Denmark, but has lived in beautiful Bali for the past 4 years. She has been practicing Yoga for the last 7+ years, but it was in 2013, during her travels in Southeast Asia when she really felt in love with yoga. During that time, she discovered yoga had much more to offer than just a purely physical practice and it helped her to find balance in life.

For Maria, yoga is a continuously journey and there is always something new to learn. She considers herself ‘a student’ always learning and getting inspired by others.

Maria completed her Vinyasa – Yoga Teacher Training (registered with Yoga Alliance) at Power of Now Oasis, in Bali. Since then, she has completed trainings and workshop in Yin Yoga, Restorative, Fly-High Yoga and Acroyoga. Her journey didn’t stop there, as she took a 100hr training in “Thai Yoga Massage” at Sunshine Massage School in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

In addition to teaching Yoga, Maria’s big passion is travelling. You will always find her planning her next big trip, going somewhere new, exploring the beauty the world has to offer.

Yoga is not a competition.
Teaching Philosophy

My main goal as a Yoga teacher is to share the amazing benefits of yoga and to bring more mindfulness and awareness into peoples’ lives. From travelling and living abroad for more than 7 years, I have had the opportunity to see and experience the incredible reach and influence of yoga worldwide and it’s been my passion ever since.

During my classes I aim to create a supportive environment where everyone feels welcome. Yoga is for everyone, it doesn’t matter if your big or small, flexible or not. My classes are open to everyone; beginners, intermediate students and more experienced yogis.

My yoga classes are mostly focused around a Vinyasa style, leading my students through a flow of asanas and linking it with their breath. But I also teach more slow and gentle practices, such as Yin and Restorative. In our yang dominant world, I believe that this is what most of us really need.

I also teach more playful practices such as Acroyoga and Fly-High Yoga classes, I love getting people out of their comfort zone to explore what they are capable of. These classes always bring a big smile on everyone’s face.

The intensity of my classes varies in accordance with my students’ experience, I want all my students to be aware of their limitations and always remember to their bodies.
